Toyota drivers combined for eight top-10 results in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS), NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) competition during the weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway.
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) In Saturday night?s NSCS race at Bristol Motor Speedway, Matt Kenseth was the top-finishing Toyota driver with a third-place result at the half-mile Tennessee bullring behind race-winner Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski (second).
Kenseth started 16th in the Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) No. 20 Camry and led the field twice for 62 laps (of 500) en route to his ninth top-five finish of the season. He ran among the top-10 throughout the evening and battled eventual race-winner Logano down the stretch. The 20 team opted to stay out during a caution on lap 432 and Kenseth restarted as the leader however Logano was able to pass Kenseth and led the final 45 laps to earn the win.
?I just knew that new tires for the setup we had tonight and what our car would do in traffic -- I just knew that clean air was going to be worth more than new tires,? said Kenseth, following the race. ?Maybe we could have gotten tires and beaten those guys -- we'll never know. I just had such a hard time. I knew clean air would cover up a lot of problems. We missed it a little bit tonight, but overall it's a good night for our Dollar General 75th Anniversary Camry. Man, I wanted to win that thing in the worst way, but I just couldn't hold them off.?
Kenseth has recorded 19 top-10 finishes in 30 career starts at Bristol.
Clint Bowyer also finished in the top-20 for Toyota with a 17th-place result.
Camry drivers Denny Hamlin (28 laps) and Kyle Busch (eight laps) also led laps in the 500 lap race.
Busch, Bowyer, Hamlin and Brian Vickers were all involved in incidents during the race.
Following the Bristol race, five Camry drivers -- Kenseth (fifth), Bowyer (10th), Busch (15th), Vickers (18th) and Hamlin (20th) -- are among the top-20 in the point standings.
The next race on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule is at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday, Aug. 31.

NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) In Friday night?s rain-delayed NNS race at Bristol, Busch was the first Toyota driver to the finish line with a runner-up result to race-winner Ryan Blaney.
Busch started on the pole position in the Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) No. 54 Camry and led the field twice for a race-high 161 laps (of 300) to earn his 16th top-five finish in 17 starts this season.
?I had a really good car,? said Busch, following the race. ?The Monster Energy Camry was good. Really fast especially front side of runs being able to make time on people and Adam Stevens (crew chief) and the boys did a really good job. We lost track position there early with guys coming early and then just taking fuel only on the competition caution and kind of leap-frogging us a little bit there. But, made our way back up a little bit and then couldn?t get by (Kyle) Larson on a single lane race track -- it's pathetic. But, once I did get a position on him kind of sort of you?ve just got to try to move the guy out of the way so I kind of forced him high and got clear of him and then that was sort of going to be the race until that last restart when my rear tires weren?t on the race track and couldn?t accelerate forward.?
Camry drivers Erik Jones (eighth) and James Buescher (ninth) also earned top-10 results for Toyota at the half-mile concrete oval. Eighteen-year-old Jones has recorded two top-10 finishes in two career NNS starts, including a seventh-place result at Chicagoland Speedway in July. The ninth-place result for Buescher marks his career-best finish in a Camry.
Following the Bristol race, Elliott Sadler is fourth in the unofficial NNS point standings for Toyota and he trails leader Chase Elliott by 42 points. Buescher (10th) is also in the top-10 in the point standings.
The NASCAR Nationwide Series returns to action next weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday, Aug. 30.

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) In Thursday?s rain-delayed NCWTS race at Bristol, Darrell Wallace Jr. was the top Tundra driver to the finish line with a runner-up finish to race-winner Brad Keselowski.
Wallace started eighth in the Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) No. 54 Tundra and went on to earn his sixth top-10 finish in the last eight races.
?Our Toyota Care Tundra was fast right off the get-go,? said Wallace, following the race. ?Just saving tires and on that last restart we got on the top and got around Kyle (Busch) -- that was probably the highlight of the weekend. I?m proud of my guys. This is a good comeback from Michigan -- should have been a one-two (finish). It?s alright, we'll go on from this and we'll build off this and we'll go to Canada. We'll have fun.? Tundra drivers Matt Crafton (fourth), Johnny Sauter (fifth) and John H. Nemechek (sixth) also earned top-10 finishes at the half-mile, high-banked Tennessee oval. Kyle Busch started the race from the pole and led three times for a total of 81 laps (of 200) before cutting a tire in the closing laps and finishing 24th.
