Main purpose of the Job:
The service technician functions to have and apply the knowledge and ability to make quality repairs on all vehicles assigned to him/her with efficiency and accuracy.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Have the necessary tools to complete the repairs assigned to him/her.
- Notify service advisors if additional work is needed, if work outlined in repair order is not necessary or if repairs cannot be completed in time allotted.
- Clearly and accurately document all work performed.
- Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Road test vehicles if deemed necessary.
- Accept additional or different tasks when circumstances change, such as emergencies, change in personnel, work load or rush jobs.
- Maintain a neat, clean and orderly work area.
- Wear a uniform and keep a neat appearance.
- Attend and successfully complete factory training as required.
- Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.
- Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations dealing with automobile repair.
- Any additional tasks that need to be completed.

Service Advisor
Title: Service Advisor
Department: Service
Reports to: Service Manager
Main purpose of the Job:
The Service Advisor functions as a liaison between technicians and customers concerning all repairs of the customer?s vehicle maintaining communications with the customer and the technician.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Maintain a professional appearance including standard uniform and proper identification.
- Keep reception area clean and organized.
- Insure prompt and courteous customer reception.
- Complete entire repair order including:
- Full name, address and phone number.
- VIN and license number.
- Year, model and mileage.
- Terms of payment.
- Document complaint in detail.
- Identify comeback situations.
- Provide every customer with an estimate of repair costs.
- Get customer authorization for any additional repairs.
- Establish a specific promise including waiters for each repair order.
- Maintain an effective appointment schedule insuring reasonable work mix.
- Properly document Repair order upon completion.
- Maintain accurate dispatching sheet.
- Insure proper warranty claim preparation; identify part and related parts with appropriate operation.
- Properly maintain technicians time tickets and flag repair order.
- Present the maintenance schedule to each customer along with the maintenance log and next service due sticker.
- Maintain a positive attitude with customers, peers and management.
- Establish ongoing consulting relationship with the customer by being readily available during normal hours to answer questions, explain additional repairs needed and make subsequent service appointments.
- Ensure delivery of work when work is completed.
- Meet all requirements of state, local and federal laws dealing with automobile repair.
